You can do this in several ways, but all of them can yield the following benefits: Giving kudos means rewarding a hard-working team for a job well done. But these kudos examples will help you spread joy around the office. ![]() You won’t always get it right, and that’s okay. You have to decide when a compliment is deserved and how to hand it out properly. This, in turn, takes your whole team’s performance to the next level because everyone knows how to work well together. Teamwork lives or dies based on shared respect and mutual trust, and regular praise cultivates these virtues in the workplace. The economic benefits of compliments are real, but ideally, you would be praising your employees for more than just a buck. Giving compliments isn't just a nice thing to do as a leader - it affects your bottom line. Workers who do not feel adequately recognized at work are twice as likely to say they’ll quit within the next year.Īnd when an employee leaves, companies spend up to 200% of their former salary hunting for a replacement. Gallup calls this one of the greatest missed opportunities for leaders and managers. Only 33% said they received regular praise at work, and most said their best efforts are routinely ignored by management. The ideas being generated are very exciting and I truly believe that this year’s approach and content will be the impetus for future hybrid offerings that will reach more people nationally and showcase our excellent research and education around ag production, farm safety, weather, sustainability, health and wellbeing, and much more. Thank you to our Farm Science Review (FSR) Education Committee for taking on the challenge of planning and implementing, together with our FSR professionals, a fully virtual show this year. The youth are learning critical life lessons this year that will be priceless over time. You are modeling patience, showing empathy, and holding the line for safety and you are doing an amazing job! This year will go in the books for one of the most taxing ever but you are all hitting it out of the park, despite the fatigue… and we applaud your efforts, perseverance, and professionalism in the face of adversity. Thank you to our 4-H professionals who are, once again, navigating the changing guidelines and modifications of fairs, often with only a few days to make adjustments.
